There is no force so mighty as a single mother in a moment of need.
But right now, try as they might, many single mothers are struggling to meet this moment.
Your support can make all the difference.
In 2024, California’s child poverty rate reached 18.6 percent, more than two and a half times what it was just three years earlier. Behind those numbers are women doing everything right but facing systems that upend stability. Food insecurity, lack of affordable housing, and a stagnating job market are leaving more families on the brink of crisis.
WANDA is meeting these powerful women where and when they need support through strategic, place-based collaborations. This year, we launched new initiatives with the Renaissance Entrepreneur Center, City College of San Francisco’s SparkPoint Center, and San Mateo County partners, combining small business training, education access, and rent assistance to help mothers stabilize, increase income, and build lasting savings. Through these collaborations, we are serving more moms than ever, expanding opportunities for women to stay housed, grow their income, and strengthen their financial futures.
WANDA moms have now collectively invested over $1.8 million in themselves and their families, building assets such as education, homeownership, retirement savings, and small businesses. They give back how they can, growing their success after the program and returning as experts who inspire others through their real, lived experiences. Our goal is to meet the growing needs of single mothers in the Bay Area through new and renewed partnerships and serve more women next year. Please join us and help our moms get to $2 million invested in 2026!
As one participant shared:
“WANDA has given me the tools and the confidence to really save money, not only for me but also for my kids… WANDA is a community that makes you feel you are part of a great positive change.”
You are that community — our village, our allies.
Please give by December 31 and help WANDA moms meet this moment with confidence, building the skills, self-efficacy, and community they need to shape their futures.
With gratitude,
Danika Dellor
President
