June is an important month for WANDA—we’ve just launched our application and are working to recruit our next cohort of striving single moms while simultaneously preparing to honor our graduating cohort at our August celebration event. We’re in the unique position to appreciate the entire life cycle of our WANDA moms and the growth made possible through our program.
We invite you to be an ally for single mothers in our community and help us reach and empower another class of striving single mothers. Applications are open now throughThursday, August 15. We continue to offer:
- One year of online classes in financial literacy, personal development, and career development
- A generous matched savings program with a 2:1 match on savings up to $2000—graduate from WANDA with up to $6000 to invest in education, retirement, or home ownership
- A supportive cohort of success-minded peers
- Access to a network of mentors, instructors, and partner organizations
Many single moms may not yet realize they are eligible for our program. You’d be surprised how many successful, driven women with great jobs qualify because it takes so much to make ends meet in Silicon Valley. Eligible single moms will:
- Live, work, or attend school in San Mateo County or Santa Clara County
- Be unmarried
- File as head of household or single on your income tax return
- Have at least one dependent 18 years or younger
- Be employed full or part-time, or have self-employment or work-study income
- Personal assets valued below approximately $30,000 (Retirement accounts are not included in this calculation)
- Have an income that falls within current WANDA income limits ($89,220 for a family of two, $100,380 for a family of three)
