Moving forward is what WANDA moms do – they overcome obstacles and build a legacy of accomplishment that inspires others and changes their family’s trajectory upwards. From Maya Angelou and Toni Morrison to Yolanda Griffith and Madame C.J. Walker, there are so many amazing single mothers to recognize as we celebrate Black History Month. Did you know that Madame C.J. Walker, in addition to being the first female self-made millionaire in America, helped other Black women build their own businesses by teaching and training them in areas such as budgeting, grooming, and women’s independence?
