WANDA and Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center partnered to support moms in building financial stability while launching or growing licensed Family Child Care (FCC) businesses. This collaboration combines WANDA’s matched savings program with Renaissance’s FCC licensing support and Creciendo en el Hogar, a 10-week training program focused on business development, licensing, and helping participants either establish or strengthen their in-home child care programs.
The goal of the partnership is to help moms increase income, build savings, and create long-term economic stability through entrepreneurship. This work also contributes to the broader community by increasing access to licensed child care, supporting working families, and strengthening local economic opportunities.
To date, the program has seen strong engagement and outcomes. Out of 18 participants, 15 completed the program (83 percent retention), with an average attendance rate of approximately 84 percent. Participants have collectively saved over $3,669, with many consistently saving around $85 per month. Of the nine participants actively enrolled in the WANDA cohort, seven are continuing to save, averaging approximately $524 each.
Participants are at different stages in their journey—some are working toward obtaining their FCC license, while others already operate licensed child care businesses and are using the program to strengthen and grow their operations. Across the cohort, participants are making meaningful progress, including submitting applications, scheduling inspections, and building more sustainable business practices.
