Sunday, September 15 kicked off Hispanic Heritage Month, a tribute to the generations of Hispanic Americans who have positively influenced and enriched our nation and society. Among those we celebrate, we’d like to shine a light on the Latina single mothers who made history in our country like Francisca Tejada de Orendain and Dolores Huerta. While determined to make a difference in their own communities, both were also steadfast in raising their children as respected and virtuous humans of society.
