Earlier this month, the women and allies of WANDA came together to celebrate and honor our graduating Cohort 13! It was an inspiring afternoon; Lateefah Simon kicked us off with an engaging keynote speech, WANDA Mom Sophia Sandoval shared her personal story of resilience and perseverance, and we honored Barbara Tyler for her invaluable partnership over the years.
We could not be more proud of Cohort 13, a group of single mothers who faced the unprecedented challenges of a pandemic with tenacity, building a remarkable community of support as our first virtual cohort. Their success is a testament to their dedication and resilience, and the importance of camaraderie.
The heart of our mission lies in ensuring that no mother walks her path alone. Every journey is shared, and every challenge is faced with the united allyship of our cohort community.
Just like the remarkable women who graduated, WANDA is now an independent nonprofit organization and we stand at the threshold of a new chapter of growth and self-sufficiency. In the coming year, we will steer our vision for growth, guided by our commitment to empowering women in our community through partnerships with other mission-aligned nonprofits and housing agencies.
As one of our strongest allies, we invite you to join us as we embark on this exciting new phase in our shared journey. Join us as we build our resilient community of women and allies committed to investing in single mother success! Donate today!
